May 2024 Newsletter
Hi Everyone,
Please find below an update on Estate-related matters.
Security: delays to gates & ANPR database
As you will see from the minutes of the AGM, all 3 resolutions relating to gate delays and the creation of an ANPR database were passed. We will be in touch shortly with a separate communication that will detail how we intend to implement these items.
Lighting
You may have noticed that 6 additional streetlights have been installed around the Estate in recent weeks, concluding phase 1 initiative to improve lighting within the Estate. We intend to add a further 3 streetlights in phase 2.
Drains
Currently, a large uncertainty is the cost of the much-needed repairs of our surface water drainage which has been neglected for many years. We continue to work on finalising a fully costed plan to present at a SGM later in the year.
Roads
The next road sweep is booked for Saturday 1 June. As usual, please could all residents make sure their cars and wheelie bins are off the roads to ensure we get the best results achievable from the sweep.
Planning
We are expecting significant levels of Development Contribution income as there are many projects within the planning system or otherwise known about, including several more demolitions & rebuilds and some material extensions/refurbishments. The accounts for the first 4 months of 2024 already include over £17,000 of DC income.
Trees & Verges
The annual “tree walk” (an annual assessment of the health of our trees) is scheduled with the Estate’s tree surgeon for mid-June.
Best wishes,
The OWRA Board.
